This review follows over a one year period, so it may read funny at first.
Seems like a nice set. Haven't used it yet, I'll report back as to the wear rate of the finish. The set comes with pot protectors to stop scratches and rattles. It's a nice addition. The only reason I'm writing a review is that a few days after purchasing these, I found them on another site for fifty bucks less. Which immediately chaps my hide. I already had opened and discarded the box, so no way to return them. If these don't perform, that'll just be insult to injury.
3 months later, I finally get to use these on our boat to discover that the sauce pan has a pinhole leak in it. Any cooking oil or butter will find its way through and on to the burner causing smoke. I thought it was something on the stove at first until I realized that it was continuously happening in the same place on the bottom of the pan.
Well that's that. Ripped off on Amazon once again. Out of return time. I think, like Walmart, pressure to sell on Amazon at lower prices invites manufacturers to sell their seconds instead their prime products. I hate to say it but if I bought these at a brick and mortar and took them back they'd help me.
Updated: A year later we're still using everything but that sauce pan. Which we discarded. I'm appreciative that Magma attempted to contact me to fix the issue. But, I have not responded as I had already discarded the pan. I have purchased several other Magma products and am getting good service life out of them so far. I think I just got a rare defect in this one pan. I felt an edit was in order but didn't want to remove my prior comments to convey my frustration and eventual turn around. I did add two stars, for Magma's intervention. The only advice I'd give a year later is to not get the white non stick. It has browned with use.
